Libro Consiliorum is loosely translated from Latin for Book of Plans, though I like to think of it as Book of Designs. This all began in college in 2008 when I took a bookbinding class. We took paintings of famous artists and told a story about them. Many told stories of love and romance (they were the same thing to me at the time). I told a story in a genre I personally adore, Science fiction. I still have that book today.
Years later, I rediscovered that book in some old files. I started to add to the story. I made a timeline, new characters, setting, and plot. But then I ask myself:
“What am I doing? I’m no writer? I’m an artist and musician!”
But every couple of months I would add to it. I took a break from it and started to approach writing not as an author, but as a designer. I began designing other stories and exploring other themes and settings. From fantasy to adventure, to Thriller to even….romance. I became cursed drawing with words and letters rather than shapes and lines.
“Madness”, I said.
Libro Consiliorum was conjured by the realization of what i;ve been creating, an anthology. It’s a collection of designs; writing art and music spanning different genres.
There are currently twelve Libro Consiliorum. Libro Consiliorum no. 1 is of course that very same science fiction that started all of this. I hope to share it with you one day.
Stay tuned!
